Veolia and Agroseguro have joined as sponsors of the World Pistachio Congress

Veolia and Agroseguro have joined as Silver Sponsors of the World Pistachio Congress (WPC), the international event for the pistachio sector to be held in Toledo on 27 and 28 January 2027.

Veolia is a world leader in environmental services for water, waste and energy management, and works with local authorities and industries to accelerate the green transition through innovative technologies and sustainable practices. The company offers a specific range of solutions for agriculture. Among the projects it is developing in Spain is the comprehensive management of 300 hectares of certified organic nut production in Villena.

Agroseguro, the Spanish Association of Insurers for Combined Agricultural Insurance, is a privately-owned limited company established in 1980 following the passing of the Combined Agricultural Insurance Act. The organisation manages agricultural insurance on behalf of and in the name of the insurers that form part of the pool. It does so in collaboration with the State Agricultural Insurance Organisation (ENESA), which grants subsidies for the purchase of insurance policies. This public-private partnership model has become a cornerstone of Spanish agricultural policy. Against a backdrop of increasingly frequent extreme weather events, agricultural insurance is a key tool for the resilience of farms.

With the addition of Veolia and Agroseguro, the World Pistachio Congress has secured the backing of two leading organisations in areas crucial to the future of the pistachio industry: the efficient management of water and resources, and the protection of farms against climate-related risks.

The World Pistachio Congress will bring together producers, industry representatives, researchers, government bodies and other stakeholders in the pistachio value chain in Toledo. The congress will address the challenges and opportunities facing a crop that has experienced strong growth in recent years.
