The World Pistachio Congress (WPC) is an international initiative created with the aim of articulating, structuring and projecting the pistachio sector at a global level, integrating all operators in the value chain into a common environment of knowledge, cooperation and strategic vision.
The project arises in a context of strong growth in pistachio cultivation worldwide. Global production exceeds one million tonnes, with the United States, Iran and Turkey as the main producers. Spain occupies a strategic position, with an annual growth of approximately 8.500 hectares.
Castilla-La Mancha concentrates nearly 80% of national production and positions itself as a benchmark region in Europe, supported by the work of the Agro-Environmental Research Center 'El Chaparrillo', a key institution in the technical and scientific development of the crop.
The WPC is not conceived solely as a one-off event, but as a strategic and professional platform of a permanent nature, aimed at generating technical and scientific knowledge, driving innovation, fostering cooperation among operators and preparing the sector to face present and future challenges.
In this framework, the World Pistachio Congress will hold its next edition in Toledo on 17 and 18 February 2027, consolidating Spain and Castilla-La Mancha as the European epicenter of pistachio sector development.
The congress aimsto become the leading international point of reference for the pistachio sector, spearheading from Castilla-La Mancha a global platform of knowledge, cooperation, and strategic momentum for all operators in the value chain.
The World Pistachio Congress is aimed at producers, processors, distributors, marketers, researchers, technology centers, industry associations, public institutions and companies linked to the pistachio sector.
