The World Pistachio Congress (WPC) continues to attract leading companies from the pistachio value chain with the addition of TOMRA as a Gold Sponsor for its next edition, which will take place in Toledo on 27 and 28 January 2027.
With this partnership, TOMRA is strengthening its ties with an international congress that will focus on innovation, technology and knowledge as tools for tackling the challenges facing a rapidly evolving pistachio sector.
The company has extensive experience in developing advanced sorting and grading solutions for the food industry, using sensor-based technologies that improve food quality and safety, optimise processes and reduce losses. In the nut sector, TOMRA offers specific solutions for pistachios capable of identifying and removing foreign matter and various types of defects.
Its pistachio solutions include equipment such as the TOMRA 4C, TOMRA 5C and TOMRA 5X, which incorporate technologies such as artificial intelligence, optical sensors and X-rays to improve product grading and yield. These technologies also enable the detection of certain internal defects and risks associated with food safety.
TOMRA’s participation as a Gold Sponsor will help bring to the World Pistachio Congress the perspective of a company specialising in transforming production processes through advanced sorting technologies, in line with the WPC’s aim of becoming an international hub for knowledge, innovation and technology transfer within the sector.
The World Pistachio Congress will bring together producers, companies, researchers, technicians and professionals from various countries in Toledo to analyse the present and future of the pistachio industry from a technical, scientific and business perspective.
