Cimbria has joined the World Pistachio Congress (WPC) as a Gold Sponsor. The event, to be held in Toledo on 27 and 28 January 2027, will bring together producers, cooperatives, industry representatives, researchers and government bodies from the main pistachio-producing and -consuming countries.
Cimbria, a brand of Grain & Protein Technologies, has over 75 years’ experience in developing technology for the processing of nuts, cereals, seeds, food and animal feed. Its activities encompass the cleaning, drying, optical sorting, storage and handling of bulk products, ranging from individual machines to complete turnkey plants.
In the field of optical sorting, the company has introduced solutions based on full-colour vision systems, integrated with NIR, SWIR and UV infrared technology, alongside the implementation of artificial intelligence to improve the accuracy of detecting and separating defective products.
The company has also strengthened its presence in Spain with a new testing centre at its office in Paterna, Valencia, and enhanced customer service capacity, at a time when pistachio cultivation is experiencing strong growth in Spain and the sector faces the challenge of adapting its processing capacity to the harvests of the coming years.
